IRTA and Local Units
IRTA is the state organization with a staff, officers, board of directors, and executive committee. It also has several standing committees. Click here for the STATE CONSTITUTION.
DuPage IRTA is one of 93 local units within IRTA. It has officers and an executive board. It is part of a REGION within IRTA. Because the region has a large number of state members, there are just two units---DuPage and West Lake Shore Units. A region has a director who serves on the IRTA Board of Directors for a two-year term. That position rotates among the units within a Region. Every two years in October IRTA holds a state convention with delegates based on the number of STATE (not local) members within those units. Click here for the DUPAGE UNIT CONSTITUTION.
